A great deal of primary research goes into the production of Gallery
Lingard catalogues. The partners (architectural historians with
Master degrees from University College, London and the Courtauld
Institute, of Art) undertake extensive background research on the
chosen architect or subject. The Gallery catalogues the drawings,
acquired for the exhibition on the open market or by private
negotiation, for exhibition. An
extensive biographical or subject commentary is then written for
inclusion ahead of the detailed catalogue inventory. Each of the
illustrated catalogues thus become small books making a significant
contribution to the history of architecture.
