Catalogue Details William Slater, architect English fl.1860s A set of 3 designs for a Victorian Conservatory, c.1862 Pen & ink with coloured washes in pink and grey (i) 26 x 27 cms (ii) 31 x 47.5 cms (iii) 31 x 47.5 cms All presented in museum-board mount These lovely drawings show proposals for a Victorian conservatory with fine ribbed fenestration designs. The coloured pink and grey washes are clear and delicate and create the impression of light and clarity - ideal features to display a conservatory design. They came from a small group of drawings by the architect William Slater for a House at Burwash for a Mr A Gibbs, dated March 1862. A rare opportunity to acquire a complete set of designs for a specific conservatory in Victorian England. In excellent condition and highly recommended. |
