The Fontana Maggiore is situated in the centre of the Piazza Quattro Novembre, the most beautiful square in Perugia. The Great Fountain was designed by Fra Bevignate (1277-80) and was decorated with bas-reliefs and sculptures by Nicolo and Giovanni Pisano. The statues drawn by Wyatt stand on the upper basin of the Fountain. Between 1948-49 the Great Fountain was carefully restored.
